TRACES OF HOME - This project is a visual ethnography study of homeless camps in the Front Range urban corridor of Colorado. I first encountered homeless camps during archaeological surveys of urban areas in the late 1990s.  Over the last three years, homelessness has exploded, and traces of homeless camps can be found in a variety of public lands. As an archaeologist, I'm interested in what these sites can tell us about behavior and the human condition.  I'm proud that this work will be exhibited at the 40 West Gallery during Denver Month of Photography in March of 2019. I am thrilled to be working with the 40 West Art District in Lakewood, Colorado. on this exhibit. Below are the details that we have thus far. Since this project was created in the spirit of "the greater good", I and the Arts District will be donating all of the proceeds from sales to a local homeless/community assistance group. The opening will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 with an artist's talk and second reception at a later, to be determined date. I will be provide additional details as the date approaches.
