This portfolio contains still images that I created for a film project sponsored by the National YoungArts Foundation.  Back in 1982 I was recognized as a Promising Young Artist of America by the organization.  As an alumni I was invited to partner with fellow alumni Kayla Briet and Isabela Dos Santos on a film about the topic of Transformation.  Four other alumni teams also produced films.  All five films were premeired on November 6, 2016 in Miami, Florida at the YoungArts headquarters.  It's been an honor and joy to participate in this project.

"Solitude, Darkness, Light"
2016, 5 minutes

A film by
Kayla Briet (Cinematic Arts) | cinematography, sound, editing, music production
Thomas Carr (Photography) | still photography
Isabela Dos Santos (Cinematic Arts, PSA) | animation, writing, dance

In a blend of abstraction and realism, "Solitude, Darkness, Light" explores the confluence of place, time, people and emotions. Contrasting worlds of the future and the past and the still and the moving take the viewer across time in search of a new perspective on the present, experienced through the lenses of sounds, animation and imagery.
